Add the number of unread DMs to the mobile app nav bar

Can we PLEASE get a notification for the number of unread messages on top of the message envelope icon on the bottom screen in the mobile app? (Photo attached)

Many members miss messages because current notifications are simply grouped into the current general notifications icon 🔔 on the top of the screen.

I need people to see the number of new messages they have, separate from general notifications.
